Maybe it's just me, but I think this is some of the coolest wood I've ever seen. Black Limba (Korina) at it's BEST. This was going to be just another "personal project" guitar, a basic Tele shape. For those of us who build neck-thru guitars for a living, this is a quickie build. I've had the neck for at least two years sitting in the shop. Slightly flamed with a Mahogany strip down the back. All I had to do was cap the head with the Black Limba, inlay the Snowflake diamonds and fret it. Anyway, I remembered a friend, Neil Blackwood, who had mentioned he wanted a guitar of this type. So, I offered it to him before it was even built. He accepted, and when it was finished, I almost wish I hadn't sold it. This is one of those special guitars that only come along every once in a while. When I started to put on the binding, I tried white. It looked like a clown nose on a tuxedo, so I tried black. YES. Black looked subtle and lush......and..........OK, I'm done now. I REALLY like this guitar.
